How much does bookbinding cost?
This is very difficult to answer as a lot depends on the state of the book and the
leather used. I'd much rather see the book first and then give an estimate over
the phone.
How long does it take to do?
Allow a turnaround time of about a month.
Can I come and see my book being worked on?
Yes, certainly! Please call to make an appointment.

What about insurance?
The Post Office will insure the parcel for you.
Does a newly bound book require any special care?
Generally no, as only the best leathers and methods are used.
However, on request, we can supply you with a quantity of leather
dressing to help protect the book from temperature and humidity
variations.
Do you welcome overseas orders and enquiries?
Yes.
Do you return the original binding?
Yes, if it looks interesting, or on request.
Can you do bindings with historical accuracy as required by,
for example, stately homes and the film industry?
Yes. Having made a study of historical bindings over the years we are capable
of bindings which were in vogue at any given historical period. We have
undertaken projects for example, where we have been asked to produce a
book for historical re-enactments and for a maritime historical display.
Do you do demonstrations and talks to groups?
Yes. I regularly do demonstrations at the book fairs I attend and
can provide an interesting and informative talk to local groups.
