Boxes can be made to measure to help protect a valuable, scarce or fragile book.
Another benefit is that a box may well enhance the books value, making it more desirable
to the connoisseur.
We are able to make attractive cases to the exact measurements of your book, covering
it in suitable cloth, buckram or even leather of a matching colour. They can be lined
in a variety of materials from a marbled paper to a sumptuous silk.
A well crafted box can add style and panache to the presentation of that special book!
There are two main types of boxes available which are both made to measure :
Slipcase.
An open fronted protective box which leaves the spine of
the book exposed and therefore visible. The close fit will ensure that
the book will slip gently from the case when upturned.
Drop Back Box.
This is a more secure means of protection,
completely enclosing the book, but providing easy access by lifting the
overlapping lid. Again a snug fit prevents damage to the book from
movement within the box whilst the complete enclosure offers protection
from physical damage and deterioration by the action of light and
atmosphere.
